ID Identity Theft Cases Too Numerous, Says Judge

- A judge, citing tens of thousands of similar cases, released a
Mexican national convicted of using a stolen Social Security number she
had purchased for $200 in order to get a job. The true owner of the SSN
has been damaged by identity theft since 1997.
